From being our entry level back in 2012, the IS subwoofers have now left their teens behind and are now fully grown up drivers with a proud heritage.
On the third revision of the IS series, they now offer more of all. Apart from same type of cone material, this generation of IS series is a completely new woofer with features found in High End drivers, regardless of SQ or SPL. The cast aluminum basket offers great airflow, ensuring the newly designed voicecoil is kept cooler than before.

The new motor now has a ventilated pole which features XD flow, (X-Drilled) which cools the voice coils from the inside of the bobbin which will increase the powerhandling.
A total proven increase of 25% (now 750 watts) compared to earlier models, they are now catering to both bassheads with the urge to demo for long periods of time,
but also to the audiophile purists that need premium components in their systems.

*It is essential that our subwoofers are given time to allow the suspension to soften up. Depending on use, this may take several weeks. While this process is undergoing, it is not recommended to apply full amplification power according to the subwoofers specs. Once the moving parts have been broken in, the performance of your subwoofer will increase.

Where others settle for less, the EL series is the result of extensive research of what we can offer regardless of cost. Features such as oversized multilayer progressive spiders, clamped & glued spider rings, woven in tinsel leads & high temperature precision wound dual voicecoils are all attributes of high end drivers. This series features all of these, but we always push the boundaries and do not settle for the norm. Yet a reason why we opted for non pressed paper cones to reproduce a smooth natural sound, instead of commonly used plastic types.

The FEA designed motor now boast 100 Oz magnet slugs, which has also increased the xmech and the xmax of the drivers, which again equals to more pressure moved.
To help keep the voicecoil in check and from overheating, the motor has both a vented pole and a drilled backplate with airvents, but that’s just the technical details of the these subs.

The audiophile performance is what really makes the EL outstanding. Sealed, vented or even bandpass enclosures do all comply with these drivers for both SQ and SPL, best of all the efficient design makes them perform better on lower power compared to other subwoofers. The 450W rating (900W peak) makes it perfect for amps up to 1kw.
The EL did already gain a world record in a lower powered trunk clamped class, so don’t think you are settling for less, when in fact you are getting more than you would expect.
